Dispatch Strategy / Buyer's Guide

Outsourced vs. In-House Limo Dispatch

The decision is not simply “employee or vendor.” A limousine operator needs to compare coverage, continuity, control, software access, management responsibility and the real staffing required to keep the operation supported.

Discuss Your Staffing Model

Neither model is automatically right for every operator. Many companies use a hybrid approach: an internal daytime team plus outsourced coverage for defined hours.

The Two Models

What You're Actually Comparing

IN-HOUSE

Build & Manage Your Own Shift

Your company hires, schedules, trains and manages the dispatch staff directly.

  • Direct employment and supervision
  • Internal scheduling and relief coverage
  • Training stays fully in-house
  • Management owns staffing continuity
OUTSOURCED

Extend the Operation Through a Service Team

An outside dispatch team covers an agreed scope and schedule inside your defined procedures.

  • Coverage can target specific hours
  • Scope and authority are documented
  • Team can work in existing systems when authorized
  • Operator can retain key management decisions

Cost, Control, Staffing & Operational Fit

A useful comparison looks beyond the visible wage or monthly service fee.

The Cost Question

Compare the Whole Shift, Not Just an Hourly Wage

An in-house wage is only one part of building coverage. The operator also has to consider how many people are needed to cover the required schedule, days off, absences, training, supervision and continuity. An outsourced service has a different cost structure. The useful comparison is the total operating requirement for the hours and responsibilities you need covered.

The Control Question

You Can Outsource Execution Without Outsourcing Decisions

This is one of the most important distinctions for limousine operators considering outside support.

OPERATOR RETAINS

Management Authority

The operator can retain chauffeur assignment and reassignment, pricing, exceptions, policy decisions, sensitive customer decisions and any other authority it chooses.

OUTSIDE DESK EXECUTES

Defined Operational Work

The dispatch team can handle calls, reservations, trip monitoring, chauffeur communication, flight monitoring, approved changes, customer updates and escalation under the client's SOP.

The Hybrid Model

For Many Operators, the Answer Is Both

A company does not have to choose between outsourcing everything and outsourcing nothing. A practical model is to keep the established in-house operation during core business hours and use an outside desk for evenings, overnight hours, weekends, overflow or another defined coverage gap. The handover procedure connects the two teams.

Current After-Hours Option

A Lower-Commitment Way to Test the Model

For eligible new clients, Limo Call Center currently offers a limited $999/month shared after-hours plan for Monday through Saturday, 5 PM to 5 AM, available through December 31, 2026. Dedicated staffing and 24/7 operating coverage are quoted separately.

Outsourcing FAQ

Common Questions Before Making the Decision

Is outsourced limo dispatch cheaper than hiring in-house?

It can reduce the need to build another internal shift, but the correct comparison depends on your coverage hours, staffing requirements, management overhead, relief coverage and the service model. Compare the total operating requirement, not wages alone.

Do I lose control if I outsource dispatch?

No. Your company can retain assignment, reassignment, pricing, policy and other management decisions while the outside desk handles only the responsibilities you authorize.

Can outsourced dispatchers use our Limo Anywhere account?

Yes, with appropriate authorization and access. The team can work within your existing environment and follow your established workflow.

Can I outsource only nights and weekends?

Yes. Coverage can supplement an existing in-house team during evenings, overnight hours, weekends or another defined period.

What does your after-hours plan cost?

Our current limited shared promotion is $999/month for Monday through Saturday, 5 PM to 5 AM, for eligible new clients through December 31, 2026. Dedicated and 24/7 coverage are quoted separately.
